George D. Hope started our company in Muskogee Oklahoma during the oil boom era of the early 1900's. His first store was followed by over twenty others scattered throughout small towns of Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Missouri. For several decades the Company did very well serving the professional contractors and the general public.

Since the mid 1980's, Hope has almost exclusively focused its efforts on serving the needs of the professional contractors in the residential construction industry in high growth markets. Our initial expansion into Texas was in 1991 in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Since then we've expanded to the Austin, College Station, Houston, McAllen, and Harlingen markets. In 1995 we expanded into New Mexico in Albuquerque. That was shortly followed by expansion into Las Cruces, Santa Fe and the Colorado in 1995. In 1997 we moved into the Kansas City market. Also in that year, our growth continued as we became the operating partner of Moore's Lumber & Building Supply, a chain of lumber yards operating in the Midwestern, Eastern, and Southern states. Moore's is operated separately from Hope Lumber.

In 2004 we continued our expansion by adding locations in Florida, Georgia and Alabama. In early 2006 Hope was acquired by Pro-Build Holdings and is now part of the largest lumber and building material distribution company in the United States. The Hope corporate office in Tulsa is now considered the Pro-Build South Regional office.

Today as part of Pro-Build we are building new facilities and continuing to expand into growing areas where we can exert significant influence on the market. Additionally we are expanding the モinstalled servicesヤ part of our business to better accommodate the needs of the professional builder. As a privately held company who controls its own destiny, we have the flexibility to respond quickly to opportunities, and to the changes that will be taking place in our industry in our next 100 years.
